FocusWorks EDC
Frequently Asked Questions
Shipping & Delivery
How long does shipping take and when do you ship?
We ship once a week, typically on Monday or Tuesday. Orders are normally processed and dispatched within one week of the order date. Once shipped, standard shipping usually takes 5-8 business days to arrive within North America.
Why hasn’t my tracking information updated yet?
We use a specialized shipping service to keep costs low and avoid unnecessary tariffs. Packages are sent from our workshop to a central hub before entering the USPS/Canada Post systems. Please allow 3–6 business days for the tracking status to update once you receive your notification.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! We ship our EDC gear worldwide. Standard shipping is sent "Duties Paid" for US shipments to avoid surprises, but DHL and UPS shipments may incur local processing fees or duties depending on your country's regulations.
Product Info & Care
Where is FocusWorks EDC gear made?
Every piece of gear -from our F2 Flashlights to Bob the Boxcutter- is precision-machined in our workshop in Canada. We take pride in small-batch manufacturing that prioritizes quality over mass production.
What batteries do your flashlights use?
Most of our lights, including the F2 series, are optimized for 14500 Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries. We recommend using high-quality cells for the best performance. We are only able to ship out batteries if you buy them with your flashlight. We have to install before we ship..
How do I maintain my titanium or copper gear?
- Titanium: Requires very little maintenance. Wipe with a microfiber cloth and Windex to remove fingerprints and restore the luster.
- Copper/Brass/Bronze: These materials will develop a natural "patina" (darkening) over time. If you prefer a shiny look, you can clean them with a metal polish like Brasso or a mix of lemon juice and salt.
Do you offer custom finishes or "Exotic" materials?
We frequently drop "Exotic" runs featuring Mokuti, Zircuti, and Zirconium. Because these materials are difficult to source and machine, these items are often "Final Sale" and released in very limited batches. Sign up for our newsletter to get notified of the next drop.
Warranty & Returns
What is your "No-Regret" return policy?
We want you to love what you carry. We offer a 15-day money-back guarantee on all standard products (excluding exotic materials). If the tool doesn't feel right in your hand, contact us for a return. Items must be in original, unused condition. Note: A $10 USD restocking fee applies to all returns.
But we go a step further! Your ‘No Regret Policy’ extends for the lifetime of the item - not you. This means your warranty goes with the item if it’s a gift, or a collectible for re-sale, or an heirloom you pass down.
Does my gear have a warranty?
- Flashlights: Lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship; 5-year warranty on electronic components.
- Other Gear: Guaranteed to be free from manufacturing defects upon arrival.
Please note: Damage from disassembly, "modding," or extreme misuse voids the warranty.
Can I get my item repaired?
If you’ve accidentally damaged your gear (e.g., dropped your light or used a pry-bar as a screwdriver), we offer repair services. We charge only for the cost of replacement parts and shipping to get your tool back in working order.
FOCUS UNDERGROUND
What exactly is the FocusWorks Underground?
The FocusWorks Underground is our private collector circle, a limited-access program for those who want deeper involvement in the brand, the builds, and the direction of what we create.
It’s where experimental projects, limited runs, shop developments, and exclusive opportunities are shared first.
What are the main benefits of joining?
Underground members typically receive:
- VIP early access to releases
- Exclusive purchase opportunities
- Limited or collector-only products
- Custom gifts or collectibles
- Certificates of authenticity for exclusives
- Access to private discussion channels and updates
Perks evolve each year based on projects and shop priorities.
Why should I join if I already check the website?
Because the website only shows what’s available after launch.
Underground members see projects earlier, get priority access, and have opportunities that never reach public release.
Is there a cost to join the Underground?
Yes - participation requires a buy-in.
The structure and amount vary year to year depending on what the Underground chapter is supporting (equipment upgrades, shop expansion, special projects, etc.).
Buy-ins are non-refundable and non-transferable.
How do I sign up?
Join the Underground interest list through the website.
If demand exceeds available spots, members are selected via draw and invited to complete their buy-in to secure placement.
SOLD OUT STOCK - VOTING SYSTEM
Why do you show products that are sold out?
We keep our past work visible as a gallery of what we have achieved in our workshop. Because many of our pens, lights, and tools are limited edition collector items, we want you to see the full range of FocusWorks history even if an item is not currently available for purchase.
How can I request a specific item to be restocked?
We have made our production process community-driven. If you see a tool you love that is out of stock, simply click the Vote For More button. This tells Jordy exactly what the community wants to see back on the lathe. Your vote directly influences our production schedule.
Will I be notified when a voted item is available?
Yes. When you click the Vote For More button and enter your details, you are signed up for an instant alert. You will be among the first to know the moment that specific tool is finished and ready to ship.
General EDC Questions
What does "EDC" stand for?
EDC stands for Everyday Carry. It refers to the essential tools you carry on your person daily to stay prepared, productive, and self-sufficient—typically including a light, a pen, a knife/cutter, and a wallet.
Why choose machined EDC gear over mass-produced brands?
Mass-produced gear is built to a price point. FocusWorks gear is built to a standard. Machined gear offers tighter tolerances, better materials (Titanium vs. plastics), and a lifetime of reliability that "disposable" tools simply can't match.
